If you wish to stay in Norway or Schengen for more days than your visitor visa is valid for, you must apply for a visa extension. If you plan to travel in and out of Schengen an extra time, you have to apply for a new visa.

With a permanent residence permit or permanent right of residence, you can reside and work in Norway indefinitely. You will also be granted extra protection against expulsion.

With a study permit you can attend university college/university, a vocational school, school of upper secondary education, religion/belief-based school or folk high school. Or you can pursue additional education, be a trainee or perform research.
